Ventilation

Although there would be no heat or flame or exhaust fumes from the cooktop, there would be quite a bit of steam generated that needed somewhere to go.

I got some great information from an interview with John Blichmann on the BeerSmith podcast #151 on going electric, and went to work busting a pane of glass out of a basement window, replacing it with PVC board, and running a 6 inch round duct through it.

Next I mounted a fan in front of the duct.  Found this 400 cfm model on Amazon, along with a controller.

A styrofoam hood is built around the front of the fan.

A flexible duct runs out through the window and up into a PVC board box encased around the outside of the window, and vents to the outside.

While going through the design and buildout process, I also decided to change up my equipment configuration.
